Basement show - A basement show is a punk/hardcore show that is held in the basement of a residential home, rather than at a traditional venue. Basement shows are normally held for a variety of reasons, chief of which are:
Basement rock - Basement rock usually refers to the thick foundation of ancient, and oldest metamorphic and igneous rock that forms the crust of continents, often granite. Basement rock is contrasted to overlying sedimentary rocks which are laid down on top of the basement rocks after the continent was formed, such as sandstone and limestone.
The Basement Tapes - The Basement Tapes are a series of recordings by North American folk-rockers Bob Dylan and The Band, recorded in mid-1967. The recordings were first heard on a bootleg recording called The Great White Wonder in 1968 (see 1968 in music) and were finally released (as The Basement Tapes, as they had become colloquially known) on June 26, 1975 (see 1975 in music).
Basement Jaxx - Basement Jaxx are a critically acclaimed UK house music duo comprised of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe that rose to popularity in the late 1990s.
