Special education - Special education (also known as special ed, SPED or defectology) refers euphemistically to the teaching of students with academic, behaviorial, or health/physical needs that cannot be met in the general education program. This article will focus mainly on the teaching of students with disabilities; see Gifted education for more information on that subject.
National Association of Private Special Education Centers - The National Association of Private Special Education Centers is a non-profit association that represents private special education centers and their leaders. the group promotes programs for individuals with disabilities and their families and advocates for access to alternative placements and services.
Cambridge special access scheme - The Cambridge Special Access Scheme was developed by the University of Cambridge to widen access to applicants who do not traditionally apply to the Oxbridge universities. To qualify for the scheme, one has to attend, or have attended a school or college with very few pupils proceeding to higher education, and the family of the potential applicant has to have little or no tradition of entering higher education.
Catalan education system - The actual Catalan education system (according to the LOGSE) are classified like this: general regime (children's education (educació infantil), primary education (educació primà ria), secondary compulsory education (ESO), batxillerat, formació professional de grau mitjà i de grau superior (technical college) and special regime (artistic studies and language studies). Education is compulsory between six and sixteen years.
