Transfer molding - Transfer molding, like compression molding, is a process where the amount of molding material (usually a thermoset plastic) is measured and inserted before the moulding takes place. The molding material is preheated and loaded into a chamber known as the pot.
Long fiber thermoplastic - Long fiber thermoplastics (LFT) are one of the fastest growing materials in the polymer composites industry. Their advantages of high specific tensile properties and recyclability have enabled them to replace metals and thermoset composites in several areas of daily life.
Hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene - Hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB), a polymer of butadiene, is a stable and easily stored synthetic rubber, often used in tire manufacturing. HTPB is sold as one part of a two part thermoset elastomer, with a diisocyanate as the other component, which is mixed prior to molding.
Melamine - Melamine is a strong organic base with chemical formula C3H6N6, with the IUPAC name 1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triamine. It is primarily used to produce melamine resin, which when combined with formaldehyde produces a very durable thermoset plastic.
Cyclics Corporation - Produces low viscosity thermoset and thermoplastic resins.
Perstorp Compounds, Inc. - Research and production company of thermoset plastics, particularly urea and melamine molding compounds. Manufacturer and product information, location, and contacts.
Worlée - Manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of chemicals including thermoset and thermoplastic resins.
