Underwater archaeology - Underwater archaeology is the study of past human life, behaviours and cultures using the physical remains found under salt or fresh water or buried beneath sediment. It is most often considered as a branch of maritime archaeology.
Maritime archaeology - Maritime archaeology (also known as marine archaeology) is a discipline that studies human interaction with the sea, lakes and rivers through the study of vessels, shore side facilities, cargoes and human remains. One speciality is underwater archaeology, which studies the past through any submerged remains.
